Bryanna blogging, Whhaaaaaaa?!?!
I know, I know. Blogging is a bit cliché, and time consuming. And other than my mom, I don’t know who will actually read these posts: but why not?! I need a page where I can vomit all of my everything—my emotions, my adventures, my gorgeous friends, all the delicious food I will be eating on my travels, beautiful places I get to touch, things that take my breath away, my favorite books, my newest favorite wines and coffees, good music, and things I just don’t feel like scribbling in my journal.
*Besides, I'm 20 now (WHOA BIG GIRL!) and think I should start doing something more productive than facebook.

From November to March (Argentina summer) I will be backpacking as much of beautiful South America as I can hitchhike, playing my guitar, writing, rockin’ out in the clubs to some good music, drinking wine (legally!) and speaking too much Spanish. Needless to say,
I
CANT!
WAIT!
I’ll be at the University of Belgrano in the center of the city studying Latin American studies with other international students for the first semester, and taking normal Creative Writing Courses with Argentines the second. I’ll stay with a host family, whom I cannot WAIT to meet!! Things I am excited for (and this is only about 10 out of 6786 of them) include:
Living with an Argentine family who will teach me how they live and embrace our differences. Making some embarrassing mistakes when I speak Spanish and laugh about it—and be comforted when I am reminded that laughter is a universal language. Teaching Argentine children how to play my guitar. The food. The city! My Basque heritage in Argentina. Blogging! The adventures I will get to write about—writing material to soothe the soul and fill books and books. Backpacking, hitchhiking, couchsurfing, learning, learning, learning! The people! And I could go on…
But I won’t.
Instead I’ll tell you this: I promise to keep everyone updated on my travels. And if anyone wants to visit, feel free to buy a plane ticket and we’ll party in Buenos Aires/the surroundings. Here are a few of the places I will get to see while I am exploring South America:

Am I bragging? I can’t help it. Okay, I’m done talking about Argentina for now. More pictures to come once July hits!
What’s up in my life? This weekend presents a ridiculously good weekend of music: the girls and I are going to see Elton John in Spokane this weekend: nosebleed seats. But who cares, right? IT’S ELTON. We’ve been listening to him religiously in our rooms and if you weren’t a fan before, you are now! And rightfully.

And then Saturday, there is a Bob Dylan benefit at the Kenworthy downtown little Moscow. If you’re a resident: it’s at 7 pm and the musicians that are playing are brilliant—one includes my guitar teacher and the other a previous professor. If you can come out, do! You don’t wanna miss a little Like A Rollin’ Stone or Forever Young. Tickets at BookPeople.
*Ps. All of everything at BookPeople is currently 30% off. Owner is retiring. Get your hands on some sweet-smelling literature at really great prices. My most Recent Recommendations: This Boy’s Life by Tobias Wolff (memoir) and Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf (classic, it’ll take your breath away)

Annnnnnnd, after this weekend, Moscow and after gets almost too busy for words. Mom’s weekend while the estrogen of my family gets to spend some quality together in my little second home of Moscow, Idaho. Then I leave to New York City for a week and will hopefully get to hug some old summer friends from Southwoods. Some finals, a bit of studying, too much good-bye partying, a few farewell tears I’m sure, and a lot of looking forward to the upcomings.
Then, my best friend of forever, gets married. To be Courtnie Olsen on May 21, 2011. Crazy how fast things move: seems like fourth grade recess when we met was just yesterday. Back when we dated best friends and myspace was awesome. Now I have to write a speech and toast to her happiness without me. Her dress is beautiful and I am happier for her than ever. I will miss these days, though:
After all of this wordy mess, I'll leave you here with some really good music and one of the coolest 12-string solos of all time. Enjoy!
And If you actually read this whole thing, I love you enough to say: check yourself into the psych ward.
Peace and Xoxo, B
